Probably the STRANGEST commission I have ever been asked to do, but I did it :) and he loved it.

bad blogger

ive been a very bad blogger- got a new 21.5" iMac :) haven't sorted out losing all my bookmarks and such to get back on track with my regular internet haunts...more to come- just finished another drawing this weekend, pics posted asap!

motivation

Motivation is a funny thing, some days I am full of artistic motivation and still get nothing done. Procrastination is the bane of my existence. I have 2+ commissions to complete and am totally broke so you'd think that I would be on top of making art like white on rice, but alas...im not-  do you ever get this way? I have today off and all I can think about is going to checkout new glasses that I may purchase, getting some exercise, packing for my moms and driving tonight, notice the lack of art time saved in there? I need to draw and prep a canvas - guess I should get off here and start doing things right? :)

The Works

Productive day today- my boyfriend Al helped me drag some art across town to The Works Bakery over near the Nick. I brought 8 paintings, but could only fit 7- I didn't want to overcrowd the work, it turned out looking very nice. It was my first dealing with hanging paintings on a molding with one of those handy hooks, it took a lot of wire but we got the set of work up in just under an hour. I am thankful for meeting people in art school, because one of my old photo classmates got me this gig. Thank you Amy! I really hope that I can sell at least one painting, bringing work back home after a show can always be a bit frustrating. The walls in my apartment now have different work on them, which is nice because you have to change things up here and there, and I don't do that enough.

I wanted to take pics of my work in the space, but I didnt--guess ill have to stop in the Bakery another day and do so, and grab an everything bagel, they are delicious. nom nom.

oh, and stupid customer question of the day at work on the burrito bar: lady: "So shredded beef.... is that like hamburg?" me: "no, that's ground beef, shredded beef is just what it means, shredded. like pulled pork---shredded meat" facepalm...why are people so dumb?
